From the President's Desk

Dear Friends and Members,

Together with my fellow committee members at the Pune Custom House Agents Association (PCHAA), we are very happy to share our views and plans for betterment of our association. Pune Custom House Agents’ Association (PCHAA) is a body of all Licensed Custom Brokers in Pune City of Maharashtra State, INDIA.

Pune is an important industrial hub with all kinds of industries in and around Pune. It is also very close to gateway sea port and biggest international airport in financial capital of India, Mumbai. The main industries based in Pune belong to automobile, engineering and project cargo, food and agriculture, IT sectors and so on.

I am honoured and privileged to assume the role of President of PCHAA for the term 2018-2020. I am deeply grateful to my Immediate Past President Mr Vinod Sharma for his leadership and contributions to PCHAA during his presidency and the members of the Committee and Board of 2016-2018. I am inspired by their commitment to PCHAA and all of their achievements. Indeed, the growth of PCHAA has been move forward collectively by the individuals and all the past presidents. I look forward to continuing this important work towards fulfilling the mission of PCHAA.

In this endeavour, my colleagues in the PCHAA Committee are:

With their continued support, I am confident that we will be addressing the various issues for the development of our association members and for the entire trade of Import and Export.

In the coming years, we will be focusing many challenges and positive points such as the following:

Traditional business module of Custom Clearance in India is changing very fast rather already changed due to digitalization and more demands from the clients for online support in Supply Chain. Custom Brokers need to upgrade themselves with highest quality IT facility and trained manpower. We as PCHAA looking for joint ventures with various IT people so that it will be benefited to all members of the association.

The Government of India has changed its systems to fully digitalization with the new integrated software which is connected with all other Government Agencies, PGAs like Drug Controller, Food and Safety (FSSAI), Plant & Quarantine, Textile Committee, Central Pollution Control Board, DGFT, RBI, APEDA and so on. I will put up various issues faced by the members of association in day to day handling and custom clearance work to the respective handling agencies and Government authorities.

To develop knowledge within our association members and their staff members for better service to end clients, I am going to conduct Training Programs, Knowledge sharing Programs, which will be conducted by the professional trainers and senior members of the association. I plan to conduct Port Visit on regular basis and educational trips for staff of our members, which will be very beneficial in upgrading their operational knowledge.

As a social responsibility towards our society and members of the association, I will arrange for conducting Blood Donation Camp every year, Medical Check-up for our members of the association and their staff. Our association members always ready for raising funds or contributing things for people affected in case of any natural calamities happen.

For better relationship among our members and other EXIM trade partners, PCHAA is going to organise some Sports, Cultural and Entertainment programmes like Football Match, Musical Event and so on. With this help, I am sure that we will have better interaction among all trade partners, the business will grow, and new relations will develop.

On National and International Level, Myself along with other committee members are going to nominate some of our senior members, knowledgeable persons from the association to various National and International level organisations like FFFAI, AMTOI and so on. This will help to open our doors to reach to Higher Level Government Agencies, to know more on practices and procedures at other locations and countries and will help our association to gather vital information and knowledge.

Among all other projects, I am personally happy and very excited about launching of PCHAA website, which is going to open lot of opportunities to PCHAA Members. With the single click, the WORLD is going to know about our Association and all activities. My team is taking all efforts to make this website very user friendly, transparent and very knowledgeable. It will give all updates of all activities that has been taken place, all memories about all events carried by our association and of course all future activities.

"TOGETHER WE GROW” is slogan of PCHAA and I am sure with such a wonderful friends, colleagues and committee members, PCHAA is going to be very prominent organisation not only in India but also in the World and others will follow.

My Best Wishes to all my Members of the Association and all committee Members!!
